24 teams started the competition on the weekend of the 1st and 2nd of November. A big thank you to Curl Ayrshire and Between the Sheets for filling the spaces after late withdrawals. The usual mix of games ensued -some close and some not so close and after the first round the competition was split into the High and Low road. By the semi finals on the Sunday lunchtime, the low road had Crosshill against Riccarton and Ayr and Alloway against Curl Ayrshire 1. The final was a great game between the Riccarton team of Mark Guthrie, Tom Steel, Scott Brown and Brian Kerr and the Curl Ayrshire team of Douglas Reid, Mary Shaw, Elizabeth Shaw and Logie Collins with Riccarton just edging it.
The High road semi finals pitched Stewarton Heather 1 against Sorn 1 and Galston Haymouth1 up against Stewarton Heather 2. The Galston team of Andrew Boswell, Jim Boswell, Alastair Boswell and James Dykes made the final against the Stewarton 1 team of Andy Muir, Euan Jackson, Michael Reid and Greg Mathew. The Stewarton Heather team emerged victorious to claim the "Jug". We were delighted that the Earl and Countess of Eglinton joined us for the afternoon and it was a great privilege to have them present the Jug to the winners. Thanks to everyone who played, umpired, bought raffle tickets, and came along to support. Special thanks to Greenacres for hosting an excellent weekend and our sponsors The Coo Shed and Bert and Alison Mckay for their continued support.
