On Monday 27th October Ayr Ladies had their annual ‘joust’ for the Janie Glen Salver with Glasgow Ladies.
Aileen McCorkell with Lillian McIntyre, Mary Shaw and Freda Miller had a significant win over Anne Harvey and her rink, winning 8-2. Team captain for the day Jennifer Mutter and her rink of Alison Young, Elizabeth Shaw and Isla Robison were peels going into the last end when opposing skip Liz Paul played one of her specials and stole a 4 to win 9-5. Being a shots up competition, Ayr retained the trophy for another year with only 2 to spare.
