Curl Ayrshire Charity
Curl Ayrshire Charity (CAC) is new not-for-profit company set up in 2024 to build and run a new ice rink, primarily for curling. It will, however, be able to cater for other sports.
With Ayr Ice Rink closing in Sept 2023, a steering group was set up to look at the feasibility of building a brand-new ice rink, to offer curling to the people of Ayrshire.
A detailed process was followed, resulting in a proposal to dissolve Ayr Curling Club and transfer all the Clubs’s assets and members to CAC. This was put before a Special General Meeting of Ayr Curling Club on 8 October 2024, and had overwhelming support.
Consequently, CAC are now forging ahead with fundraising and seeking a suitable site in Ayrshire to build a new ice rink.
